Meet the Team Mike Saxton

October 30, 2021

You must have seen Mike around the club as he always seems to be there! Mike has done everything from cutting the grass, putting out the flags to driving the 1StXV and Spartans ever onward. A former player and long time member of the club, Mike’s new role as Director of Rugby means he continues to add value in whatever he does.

Let's hear from him.

I joined the All Whites in 2002 from Brixham RFC, where I played most of my youth rugby. While playing for the All Whites, my greatest on-field highlight was to be a part of the team that made its way into National 3 in 2010. I played a season at National 3 and was proud to represent The Club at the highest standard the senior men’s team has played. With limited coaching opportunities at NARFC, I had a chance to become a player-coach under ex All-White Simon Morrell at Teignmouth RFC. We had tremendous success winning two league titles and the Junior Vase. Joe Simmonds was my Flyhalf, and I take full credit for his MBE and other accolades…

I am very proud to represent The Club as it has been such a large part of my life. The Club introduced me to my best friends, wife, and lots of stress (in no particular order).

I am a huge advocate for the #OneClub and #OneCommunity ethos that is becoming embedded in The Club. The Directors and executive team are highly invested in creating foundations to ensure the Club is here for years to come.

Feel free to email me with any questions or queries. We are always looking for volunteers.
