Kingsbridge vs All White Juniors U9’s

So on Sunday we had our first ever contact match away to a really good Kingsbridge side on a beautiful sunny morning.

It was incredible to see how far the children have come over the past month and, after a few pre-match nerves our squad stepped up for business, fiercely led into battle by our teams first captain, super George Billings!

What can we say…everyone was absolutely brilliant and excelled in the freedom of being tag free.

The rugby they played was just fantastic. The tackling was technically outstanding, controlled and let’s say robust. There were certainly a few hearts pounding with both parents and coaches!

The standard of all the players in their first match was brilliant with some great phases of play, commitment, bravery and, with some awesome tries scored from both sides. We’d like to give Jordan Barras Smith a shout out for winning player of the match after making some crunching tackles before and after a hefty boot in the face!

The coaches and parents REALLY enjoyed the quicker pace, excitement and tackling of the contact game. We are extremely proud of all our players who represented the all whites with a wonderful spirit, as did Kingsbridge.

Now has anyone seen my sons tooth?!
