Fantastic news from our U10 section

November 14, 2021

We are really pleased to announce that we have just agreed a 3-business age group partnership deal for the u10’s, so through their support and generosity every player in the squad will receive a piece of branded training clothing, an equipment budget for the team as well as wider support for the club.

A Big thank you to our Partners

If you are interested in becoming a partner with any of our age groups across the club than please get in contact with Jess Veacock:

Update from the U10 Section

It’s nice to have a good run of weather having missed a few training sessions at the beginning of the month. The u10’s have continued to demonstrate this season that they are a strong squad within the area with opponents knowing home or away we will be coming with a talented playing group

That said, last week our players came up against probably their toughest test this season in our first-time playing Exeter Athletic, the game was played in great spirit but with both sides having strong defences the try count was lower than normal with each side having to work hard to cross the line. Overall honours were even come the end of the matches, this was of huge benefit to our squad and gave us some really important elements to work on in training this week.

We took those coaching points into our local derby match away to Teignmouth on Sunday. The game begun following a well observed 2 minutes silence from both u12 and u10 sides to show our respects to those that have fallen on Remembrance Sunday. With plenty of friendships across both sides the kids really enjoyed showing their skills to see who could have the bragging rights at the post match meal. The coaching team were encouraged to see the kids taking those learning points from mid-week into the weekend with another brilliant performance against our local rivals.

Our focus now turns to building those skills when we host Brixham this coming Sunday, after that we will then have a short turn around and will be on display at Rackerhayes playing a game against Okehampton on Sat 27th Nov on the Westaway Sausages Main Pitch. This is a prequal to the Western Counties 1st XV league fixture against Honiton, giving the kids a chance to support our senior side and hopefully aspire to follow in their footstep in about 8-10yrs time!!

If you know of any girls or boys in Yr5 school that keen on starting rugby, then please get in contact with Simon Coburn and we will ensure they are given a warm welcome.

Off the pitch there has been lots of action and planning going on, moving over to a new team management App Spond, we also held a team social in Oct of Footgolf for the kids to enjoy each other’s company away from the pitch.

We are also planning our Christmas event and have plenty of other ideas in the pipeline to keep the squad connected in 2022
