Sportman’s Dinner Partnership.
7th October 2024Platinum Partnership Opportunity, We’re thrilled to extend an exclusive opportunity to become the Platinum Partner of Newton Abbot Rugby Club’s annual Sportsman’s Dinner. Newton Abbot…
The Spartans entertained Teignmouth on a sticky Homers Lane pitch. A strong Spartans side started well against a determined Teignmouth side. After 15 minutes with a wind behind us and no scores on the board the Spartans lost Angus Calderwood and Matt Rowe to injury, causing a few positional shifts. This kicked the Spartans into life and the tries started to come from some lovely structured rugby and some hard running from centre Ben Spear, Jonjo Lacey took over kicking duties and ended the day with six from six. As halftime came the Spartans were 30-0 up.
The second half continued from where the first half ended now against a strong breeze the ball was kept in hand resulting in some lovely individual tries from Tom Osbourne, Matt Wrayford and Ryan Partridge with the pick of the bunch with a balanced 50m run that sliced through the heart of the Teignmouth team. As the final whistle blew the Spartans were victorious with an impressive 72-0 score line.
All White Colts vs Barnstaple Colts
Another tough day at the office for our lads. Barnstaple look to have bolstered their side since we last played them with several new signings in their squad. Although Newton defended valiantly Barnstaple went away with a hard fought win.
Final score 6-12
Next weekend sees us travelling away to Ivybridge
Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances, Falmouth withdrew from the fixture at the last hour leaving the All Whites without a fixture this weekend. Next weekend leaves them with a League Weekend Break due to the Final round of the 6 Nations. The club is hosting a volunteers lunch for all of our valued volunteers. From those who help coach an age group, assist with admin, groundsmen, take photos, wash kits you name it, we want to thank YOU!
