Newton Abbot Women Vs Topsham Women

21st November 2022

A massive effort from the Newton Abbot Ladies on Sunday meant that they came away with a 39-17 win away against Topsham Ladies RFC.

The first half saw Newton Abbot’s backline make the most of some small gaps in the defensive line to run in 5 tries as they pulled out to an early lead. With Topsham scoring 2 back of their own to end the first half 29-12.

The second half saw both teams tighten up their defence and lead to some big carries from either side. However this eventually freed up space out wide for Newton Abbot to run in another 2 tries through some quick handling.

Tries were scored for Newton Abbot by Sammie Harris, Beth Nichols, Faye Robinson and Hebe Shepherd.

The forward of the game was Emma Laskey, sponsored by Tozers for some impressive carries and work at the breakdown.

Back of the game was Dani Reynolds for her utility and fast hands helping run the backline smoothly and find space.
